CAMBOURNE  ROVERS

CAMBOURNE ROVERS  are presented with the

 U11 Tony Gavin Cup by

Huntingdonshire Youth F.A. Chairman. Mr. Ray Bull

Cambourne started very well and took the lead early in the first half. Priory Parkside J were a good match for Cambourne as the game was very even and both sides played within the spirit of a Cup Final. When half time came both sides and the Referee needed the break, as it was a very hot day.

The second half continued the same as the first with both teams looking for a break.  It finally fell to Priory, late in the second half, pulling even and sending the match into extra time.  Extra time went by with neither team being able to take the advantage, so for the first time in the short history of Hunts Mini-Soccer Cup Finals we had a penalty shoot out.  Cambourne came away as the winners with a 4-2 victory. It was noted that all the Penalty Shots from both teams were on target.

An excellent match and congratulations to both teams for a memorable Cup Final.
